What is the BAE Systems GXP International User Conference and Professional Exchange?
The annual BAE Systems GXP International User Conference and Professional Exchange features an expansive technical program as well as workshops, which highlight the effective use of BAE Systems’ geospatial intelligence technology and software: SOCET GXP® and SOCET SET®.
The conference is also designed to allow attendees to learn from and work with technical staff who will be demonstrating practical software solutions, providing easy-to-use tips and techniques, and offering insight into future product development. Moreover, there are opportunities to meet fellow software users and learn about their successful implementations, thus networking and learning from others in the industry.
Is this Conference classified?
The Conference as a whole is not classified. All general sessions, keynote speaker presentations and most workshops are unclassified and open to all attendees.
We will be holding a classified session day on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at the BAE Systems, Rancho Bernardo campus which is geared towards government/government contractors. This session will only be open to those who have passed their clearances.
What level of clearance is required to attend the classified sessions?
Attendees who wish to participate in the classified session on the BAE Systems Rancho Bernardo campus on Thursday, May 7 must have a SECRET clearance or above.
How do I pass my clearances to attend the classified session day?
Complete, step-by-step instructions for submitting clearances are outlined in the attached document.
BAE Systems will notify you once clearances have been granted. Please be aware that while we are making every effort to improve the clearance submission process by applying for Technical Assistance Agreements (TAAs) for all international organizations who have provided clearance information and have been granted clearances previously, there is no guarantee that the TAA will be finalized prior to the Conference date.
What is included in a Full Conference Registration package?
Full Conference Registration includes participation in all of the general sessions, workshops, and presentations, as well as the following:
- Monday: SOCET GXP Boot Camp and evening welcome reception
- Tuesday: continental breakfast, morning coffee break, lunch, afternoon snack, and dinner social event
- Wednesday: continental breakfast, morning coffee break, lunch, afternoon snack
- Thursday: continental breakfast, morning coffee break, lunch, afternoon snack, and closing reception
Are hotel charges included in registration costs?
Hotel charges are not included in the Conference registration costs.
A large block of guest rooms for Conference attendees are reserved at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines. Attendees are encouraged to make their room reservations as soon as possible especially as the hotel frequently sells out as the Conference date approaches. Government attendees will be eligible for the current government rate at the time of their reservation.

Can I meet with GXP staff one-on-one to discuss workflow issues?
Yes, one-on-one sessions to discuss individual software issues are available in our Walk-up Workstations area, as well as at the GXP Software Clinic to be held Friday, April 23.
Walk-up workstations
One of our major objectives for this Conference is to help you to solve any problems or issues you may have using the software. We have provided a number of walk-up workstations in La Jolla Room: The Canyon.
The walk-up workstation area will be staffed at all the times listed below, or you can go to Conference Registration desk and arrange an appointment to meet with the most appropriate support engineer or product manager to work with you. Bring your own data set, if you prefer.

GXP Software Clinic
The GXP software clinic is available to all conference attendees. Friday, April 23 is dedicated to one-on-one sessions with GXP Customer Support engineers. Participants who have scheduled appointments meet with Customer Support engineers to discuss unique issues they are experiencing in their work environment.
Is there an “official airline” for the Conference?
No, there is no official airline for the BAE Systems GXP International User Conference.
What is the cancellation/refund policy?
If you are registered and cannot attend the 2010 BAE Systems GXP International User Conference and Professional Exhange, you are welcome to send another person in your place. If you cancel your registration on or before April 5, 2010, we will refund 100% of registration fee. Cancellations made after April 5 will receive a 50% refund. No refunds will be made after April 16, 2010, and registrations received on or after this date are not eligible for refund.
If you are unable to attend the Conference, we encourage you to send a substitute!

Can a guest accompany an attendee to the evening social events?
Attendees may bring a guest to these events: a guest pass that includes both the Monday Welcome Reception and the Wednesday evening dinner event can be purchased for $50. A guest pass for the Tuesday baseball event may also be purchased for $50.

What is the official language of the Conference?
English is the official language of the Conference.
BAE Systems is unable to provide translation services for Conference attendees.
What is the dress code?
Business casual attire is recommended for all Conference sessions.
What is the weather in San Diego like?
Weather in San Diego is generally very nice with temperatures average high at 69.0° F and the average low at 56.0° F.
Please keep in mind that the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines is located on the coast and therefore the weather does tend to get chilly in the evening. A light coat or sweater is recommended.
Will Internet access be available at the Conference?
Computers are available in the BAE Systems Internet Café located in the La Jolla Room: The Shore for connecting to the Internet, reading e-mail, surfing the Web, etc. These will be available during Conference hours. Complimentary wi-fi areas are located in the Hotel Lobby and Restaurant.
High-speed Internet connection in also available in your hotel room for $12.95 for a 24 hour period.
Does your manager require justification for you to attend the Conference?
BAE Systems has made available a justification letter for you to use to support your interest in attending the 2009 BAE Systems GXP International User Conference.

Where can I pick up my Conference badge?
Badges will be available for pick up at the on-site at the Conference Registration desk. Badges will not be mailed.
Conference Registration will be located in the Hotel Lobby on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Monday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. It relocate to the the Ballroom Foyer for the duration of the User Conference.
