Multiple new hyperspectral and multispectral algorithm plug-ins for SOCET GXP® debut in the forthcoming release.Users can employ the algorithms to detect camouflage, or other hard-to-identify objects in imagery. The new plug-ins provide a convenient option for SOCET GXP users, who would otherwise have to employ specialized applications to complete these image processing tasks.

A large group of GXP User Conference attendees traveled to BAE Systems’ Rancho Bernardo campus for a full day of sessions dedicated to government programs. Customer presentations were given by NGA, U.S.A.F., Riverside Research, and ITT. Professional Exchange topics included developers building on SOCET GXP — General Dynamics, Sandia National Laboratories, and Ball Aerospace.

Functionality for the forthcoming SOCET GXP® v3.1 release dominated Wednesday’s presentations. New tools unveiled included the Flipbook, a quick visual way to access data; a Web services tool for connecting to Web content services, and the Xport, a specialized Multiport that provides a palette of up to six preview panels.

The 2009 BAE Systems GXP International User Conference and Professional Exchange kicked off on Tuesday, May 5 with an introduction by Dan London, vice president of sales and marketing for the GXP business. Dan was happy to report that the debut of SOCET GXP Boot Camp was a big success, and received a positive response from attendees when he suggested that BAE Systems take the Boot Camp concept on the road later in 2009.
