Film and digital airborne sensors are the primary data sources for many geospatial analysts, particularly in commercial and global markets where acquiring satellite imagery is often not feasible. BAE Systems developed a step-by-step wizard interface to simplify the frame import process, reducing the time required for image processing. Advanced image processing algorithms assist operators with change detection, image classification, identifying anomalies and tracking patterns of activity over time.

“The Frame-Advanced sensor model is used in the geospatial production process from frame import through image registration to creating finished products,” said Stewart Walker, director of product initiatives for the Geospatial eXploitation Products™ business. “Analysts can more efficiently and accurately create photogrammetric products, such as topographic map data and high-resolution digital surface and elevation models.”

The SOCET GXP v3.2 software release also adds automated tools for viewing and editing live video feeds, and efficient tools for converting terrain analysis results from raster to vector file format. Furthermore, hyperspectral and multispectral image processing is extended with the capacity to analyze additional bands of image data, which minimizes the dependency on specialized software packages. Using these tools, analysts can more precisely identify ground features such as distinguishing between camouflaged fatigues and trees.

SOCET GXP is a geospatial-intelligence software package that uses imagery from satellite and aerial sources to identify and analyze ground features quickly, allowing for rapid product creation. The software is used to document geographic attributes in images and live video feeds and establish patterns of activity over time, which broadens analytical expertise.

SOCET GXP v3.2 is available on Microsoft® Windows XP, Vista, 7 and Solaris™ 10 x 86 operating systems.

Now with frame import and triangulation, SOCET GXP^® achieves a new level of support for SOCET SET^® workflows. SOCET GXP v3.2 also includes terrain registration, comparison and volumetrics that go well beyond the tools in SOCET SET.

In addition, advanced hyperspectral and multispectral analytics build on v3.1.1 mid-range exploitation tools. New classification algorithms, spectral libraries and pixel thresholding offer real-time visualization and insight; and a redesigned video analysis tool enables slow-motion or frame-by-frame metadata analysis to track moving objects.

SOCET GXP v3.1.1, adds performance improvements to amend the v3.1.0 release, and integration with the Mensuration Services Program (MSP) for classified customers. Users have the option to use either MSP or RULER for mensuration.

SOCET GXP® v3.1.1 product packages will automatically be shipped to all customers with up-to-date Upgrade Entitlement. Please be patient. We are implementing increased security measures for all of our software packages and shipments.

The U.S. Air Force Precise Point Positioning Program (AFP4) received program accreditation from the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency in October of 2009 to train and certify Air Force Intelligence personnel in precise point mensuration.

Certification authorizes analysts to calculate geocoordinate and elevation data for coordinate-seeking weapons, utilizing SOCET GXP® and Common Geopositioning Services (CGS).

BAE Systems has implemented a new licensing plan for SOCET SET® and SOCET GXP® — customers can increase productivity for computationally-intensive processes, including automatic point measurement in triangulation, orthorectification, mosaicking; and automatic terrain generation.

The new license scheme makes it possible to run up to four concurrent processes with one license instead of the previous two. For example, one license for NGATE provides four batch processing licenses, allowing concurrent processing on four processors with one computer, or on multiple computers within the license server network. The new SOCET GXP® v3.1 Video Analysis tool reads and displays live video feeds or saved video files from airborne sensors for real-time situational awareness.

GXP Xplorer is a new BAE Systems software product that makes it easy to retrieve and use geospatial data on a local network.

The application is ideal for users in workgroups who are searching for images, terrain, features, videos, documents, and other files. A GXP Xplorer viewer is included for examining search results and selecting data for use in other applications, such as creating a PowerPoint® slide. Search results also can be shared among workgroups.
