Functionality for the forthcoming SOCET GXP® v3.1 release dominated Wednesday’s presentations. New tools unveiled included the Flipbook, a quick visual way to access data; a Web services tool for connecting to Web content services, and the Xport™, a specialized Multiport that provides a palette of up to six preview panels. Each panel in the SOCET GXP Xport shows a duplicate of the image in the parent reference Multiport panel with different (custom) processing chains applied, such as band selection, band math, enhancements, analysis algorithms, and derived products. Each of the panels is linked dynamically, providing a rich environment for in-depth analysis and quick visualization.
Other notable developments to improve efficiency are updated algorithms for push-button pan-sharpening, automated triangulation, and other mid-range photogrammetry tools for image analysis, visualization, and terrain generation.
The GXP Online Enterprise Solutions Professional Exchange presented ideas for new applications focused on enterprise automation. Benefits discussed were: processing large volumes of data; increasing throughput; reducing production and maintenance costs; scaling up to more users and tools; and scaling down to smaller devices. In a spirited discussion, attendees offered valuable suggestions from the users’ point of view, including resource requirements and potential challenges to implementation. BAE Systems will incorporate the feedback into the application development process.
