A large group of GXP User Conference attendees traveled to BAE Systems’ Rancho Bernardo campus for a full day of sessions dedicated to government programs. Customer presentations were given by NGA, U.S.A.F., Riverside Research, and ITT. Professional Exchange topics included developers building on SOCET GXP — General Dynamics, Sandia National Laboratories, and Ball Aerospace.
Additional discussions covered Common Geopositioning Services; Tools for AGI and MASINT; SAR Plug-ins with SOCET GXP and SAR Low-Cost Operational Node; Hyperspectral algorithms in support of advanced geospatial intelligence, and the Front-End Processing Environment. A special session for U.S. Army personnel included AGI training.
Popular topics in Thursday morning’s session were unmanned aerial systems and video analysis. SOCET GXP offers functionality for selecting and viewing streaming video files from within the software. SOCET GXP uses standard compression methods to convert audio, video, and file formats. Video footage can be converted to image file formats that support international standards. Operators can freeze individual frames, save them to a file, and open the files in SOCET GXP for further analysis and annotation, providing a valuable resource for geospatial intelligence reporting.
