DTED

Abbreviation for digital terrain elevation data. DTED is an elevation data format that represents a grid of measured elevation posts over the surface of the earth. There are several DTED levels that determine the resolution of the file: DTED level 0 has 30 arc second elevation posts, DTED level 1 has 3 arc second elevation posts, and DTED level 2 has 1 arc second elevation post. The DTED file extensions are .dt0, .dt1, or .dt2, depending on the DTED level. Loads a DTED file into SOCET GXP to view the image elevation data. The DTED supports triangulation processing or orthomosaic generation.
