Common preferences are set by a system administrator to ensure that all users have the same preferences. When a common preference is set, it is locked and cannot be changed by individual users. User preferences are customizable for each user. Any preference that is not locked as a common preference by a system administrator is a user preference.
To access common and user preferences, select the appropriate tab from the Preferences window.
