Abbreviation for reduced-resolution dataset. An RSET is a collection of reduced-scale images used to enhance zoom performance. RSETs reduce overall memory size while preserving the integrity of spatial data in the full-resolution image. Each RSET is a new image, approximately one-fourth the size of the previous image. SOCET GXP generates RSETs when imagery becomes too large to manage.
